Dr. Koo,
As I sit at the airport waiting for my flight back to New York I can only think of what a great experience I had over the past two days. This event was like no other I have been to. I felt at home and among friends. What a great way to learn. Not once did I feel that I was being sold something, but rather that I was allowed to share in valuable knowledge. All the reps were so helpful.
Your sincerity and love for what we do was obvious. I share the passion and look forward to using my XG3D along with my Cerec machine to help my patients.
My brother-in-law John will soon purchase a 3D machine as well. We sit here and are discussing the stages of Implant Protocol.
I had the pleasure of having dinner last night with Dr. Lin. We have become friends and that may be one of the best things I have walked away with. He is such a great guy.
It is always nice to walk away with a pearl or two from a course. I feel as if I walk away from yours with enough for a necklace.
Thanks again. I look forward to future communication and the 2nd annual meeting of the Academy of 3D Connection in Osseo-Integration.

Dr. Koo,
Having been in practice for 23 years, I often considered placing implants but never felt clear on the path of education and training I should choose from, it was easy to procrastinate.
I also realized that my hesitation stemmed from a concern that once I started this journey, I would need local support and mentoring. I worked with some very good specialists placing implants for my patients, but I did not feel that they would be very supportive of my decision to place implants.
This past year I was fortunate enough to acquaint myself with Dr. Yong-Han Koo and his Academy of 3D Connection in Osseo-Integration. I attended his inaugural meeting in May of 2013. From the start, I felt such a positive energy from the participants and a genuine sincerity to share knowledge and personal information with a common goal of ideal treatment and patient care.
Prior to attending this meeting, my thought was that using a fully guided system would alleviate my fear of placing implants. However, I was often told that this was “overkill” and really not necessary. I found that the Academy of 3D Connection in Osseo-integration shared my passion for integrating technology into our practices to help facilitate treatment planning and implementation. Dr. Koo and the Academy speakers presented cases in a clear and methodical manner and I realized that they had integrated this technology to make implant placement as predictable as possible. I decided that even though this was a high investment, it would offer me the most comfort level in knowing that I was doing the best possible for my patients and would help alleviate my personal hesitation of placing implants.
Attending the Academy’s sessions at Dr. Koo’s office has been crucial to the success I have had this past year in incorporating implants into my practice. The manner in which he has explained his staging protocols has helped me to designate the implant site and determine the complexity of the case. Learning about guided bone regeneration and materials in this small group setting has helped to build my confidence and skill level. The sharing of knowledge, personal achievements and setbacks, has been so beneficial.
It has definitely been a challenge to learn these new procedures and techniques. Which guided kit do I implement, when do I graft, what type of graft material should I use; these are all areas where I am gaining more and more confidence. However, I can honestly say that if it were not for the type of learning environment and accessibility Dr. Koo and the Academy of 3D Connection in Osseo-Integration has fostered, as well as the integration of cone beam imaging and guided surgery, I would not have had the confidence to place the 10 implants I have placed in the past 7 months.
Sincerely,
